Peer interactions and performance in a high‐skilled labour market*

It is not clear whether interactions among superstar employees lead to an increase in productivity. Such are relatively rare, and measuring productivity challenging. In this paper, it suggested that these difficulties can be overcome by analysing changes the performance of elite National Basketball Association (NBA) players who participate Olympic Games. By using advanced individual measures, study finds athletes experience 7.1 percent season after Games, compared with similar non-Olympic athletes. The sharp discontinuity peer quality experienced most likely explanation for increase.
